Harness with snaps cut off and leads
securely tied to the harness.
Harness with the snaps still on.
In our original studies, we found
that some of our birds have taken off or destroyed
the snap within seconds (it's their goal) while
other birds could care less. It's basically
whatever works the best for you and your bird .
Safety is the key
Would you want to have a large
piece of steel on your seat belt?
Of course not .... Why then
would you put a harness on your pet with a steel buckle at
their chest where any sudden flight or impact can hit upon
the chest and cause serious injury!!
Our harness comes with a
woven tie to secure our birds -- not a quick disconnect
like the Harness on the right. In our safety study for over
eight years we have found that if a clip is easy for us to
undo -- It is as easy for our bird. How safe can you feel
when the pet that you love and have so much invested in
can undo his harness in seconds and be gone or injured
before you even notice??
The need is to make the
harness Bird Safe ..... But also Bird Proof as close as we
could!! As you can
see by this picture that we put our d-ring under the bird not
across the back. If the bird was to fly or bolt we would
not flip the bird or injure his wings trying to hold him.
This harness has been studied and tested for over eight
years and the birds at Fred and Company wear their harness
24 hours a day for weeks on end ------ With no feather and
no skin damage!!
